Pregnancy is Awesome!

Okay, I have to say it.  I'm one of the lucky girls out there that has the best pregnancy ever.  And I get to say, I love being pregnant!!  It's been so awesome so far.  I love that I took a long time to start showing, and now I love that I am finally showing more!  I don't have to worry about sucking in my stomach or anything.  I get to just look pregnant.  :)  I have been able to continue teaching 5th grade just as easily as I started, and I even have enough energy to do workouts with Jevan almost every day.  I even did the plyometrics on P90X today, which is pretty dang intense!  Life is good.  :)

21 Weeks!  Jev was out of town, so this was the best pic I could do on my own.

22 Weeks.  Right before my workout today.  I guess sometime I'll have to get a new workout shirt!

Halfway!!!

I'm 20 weeks and loving it!  I have been feeling our little girl move a lot more often.  Sometimes it is small, but on occasion she surprises me with such a hard push that I react out loud.  I can only imagine what it will be like when she kicks hard enough for other people to feel!

I decided the key to looking more pregnant instead of just fat, is to take a picture right after eating dinner or a big meal.  I can definitely see my belly a lot more after I eat!

Our baby GIRL!!!

I am now 19 weeks!  We were able to go get our ultra sound on Monday and find out what our baby is...and as you can see, it's a GIRL!!!  Jevan and I are both so excited!  I think I'm more excited than Jevan though.  He was hoping for a boy...but..he already thought it was going to be a girl, so he was okay with the news.  ;)  He does think he's cursed with his dad's ability to produce a lot of girls though.  I just told him not to worry, we'll have a boy next.  ;) And, I did secretly want a girl..but of course, we would've been just as happy either way!

There are always about 4 weeks between each appointment, and I always get nervous towards the end of those 4 weeks, wondering if the baby actually is okay!  Luckily, there is never anything to worry about!  Our little girl is totally healthy!  My blood work is normal, her heart beats at a great pace, and she is just overall...perfect!  I mean, they did say she was a little small...37th percentile, but she is still in the normal range, so it's all good!  In fact, it's even better!  A small, but totally healthy baby is ideal for me!

It's always cool seeing the baby and hearing the heartbeat...it makes it more...real.  It's even more real now that we know she's a little girl!  It was crazy to see her moving around inside!  I had been told she was moving, and that I could start feeling her soon, but I didn't think I ever had.  However, now that I KNOW exactly where she is in my body, I'm pretty sure I've been feeling her everyday since!  I guess I just didn't realize where I should be feeling movements from.  But yeah, she's always moving around now!  They said it would be like flutters, but to me, it just feels like rolling motions, or a little pulse, or just a bunch of little pushes.  It's pretty crazy!  I can't wait for Jevan to be able to feel her!

On the ultra sound I could tell some features, but there were a lot of things the technician was talking about that we could not see at all!  And unfortunately our little girl was facing towards my spine the whole time, and wouldn't roll over.  So we didn't really get a good look at her face or profile.  But I did see her arm, hand, spine, tummy, head/brain, heartbeat, and supposedly her nose/lip.

So, I think that's about it for how our appointment went.  It was just so great, and we're so excited to know we're going to have a new Anderson girl in the family!

Here are some pics.  I feel like now that I know I'm having a girl, or now that I'm 19 weeks, I've all of a sudden shown more, and felt more movements!  It's weird how fast babies grow once they hit a certain point.

19 Weeks!  I promise I'm not sticking out my stomach!  But maybe it's because my shirt is more form fitting?  I know I'm still small though, and I'm completely grateful!

I hope our little girl won't be embarrassed later on in life that I put this here, but check it out!  Proof she's a girl!

A foot.

Another foot.

An arm.

Another arm.

And I guess this is her nose and lip, looking like...up her nose I guess.  Pretty crazy!  They want to make sure she doesn't have cleft lip or anything, and she looks fine!

18 Weeks!

Every Tuesday I try and take a picture to document what I look like for that week.  I was 18 weeks this last Tuesday, and although this is a little late, here is a picture of me!  I've been crazy anxious all weekend, because on Monday, March 31st, we get to find out what this little baby will be!!  I can't wait!!!

Week 17

According to all these different pregnancy sites, during week 17, my baby should be around 5 oz, and about the size of an onion/the palm of my hand.  Pretty crazy!  I'm still feeling totally great!  Here are the biggest changes I've noticed in the last few weeks:

-My belly button sometimes looks like an outie instead of an inny... I REALLY don't like that.  It looks so weird!

-I have gotten a couple charlie horses!  No one has ever told me until about two days ago, that getting a charlie horse is a possible symptom!  I guess I'm supposed to eat bananas...too bad I've never liked bananas!

-I'm often short on breath...but it's not too bad.

-My belly is finally starting to show...a tiny little bit...depending on my outfit, and oddly enough, the day.

-I have no food cravings really, but unfortunately, right now, pizza and baked potatoes/green onions, sound absolutely disgusting!  Too bad eating pizza pretty much happens every week in our home! :/
16 Weeks!

Today at 17 Weeks

I feel like you can never tell as much in these pictures, but apparently today I looked extra pregnant at school.  I still hadn't told my 5th graders yet, and we planning to right before spring break. (which is about a week from today).  However, we were practicing a song for our DARE graduation in the multi purpose room as a whole 5th grade, and my coworker asked if I had told the kids.  I think she was hinting that I was starting to look a little more obvious.  When we got back to the classroom we had about 10-7 min. before we rotated classes, so I decided today was the day to tell them!

It was so fun!  I got to tell my three different classes today, and it's crazy how similar and different their reactions were.  First off, they were all VERY excited, and apparently, about half my kids were wondering!  I still don't know how/why though!  I usually look very much the same as always.

So, in my first class I told the kids I had to tell them something, and one kid blurted out, "You're pregnant!", and I was like, actually, yeah!  Then half the kids said, "I knew it!"  In my other two classes, no one blurted out that I was pregnant, but always about half the kids claimed they "knew it!" haha.  Here are the things they had been noticing:

-I wasn't as skinny as I used to be...but they didn't want to ask, because they didn't want to be rude.  (I teased them that I really had just been eating too many doughnuts.  haha.)

-Half of them noticed today while practicing the DARE song, and then some would notice when I turned to the side to write on the board.

-They said I had been sitting down a lot more.

-I guess I've been putting my hands on my tummy, and folding my arms over my belly a lot?

-And apparently I've been wearing more skirts, and less pants.

haha.  I haven't done any of these things consciously, so it's just funny what they think they've been picking up on.

Last thing before I end this super long post...I had the kids guess what I was having!  They were all mad that I've waited about 4 months before telling them!  haha.  But they're super excited that the day they get back from Spring Break, I can tell them.  I had about half and half for each guess, but some girls claimed that my forehead is more pale than usual...and that means I'm having a boy.  BUT...they also said if your hair gets darker, you're having a girl..and...well...I haven't highlighted my hair since Thanksgiving, so that one's kind of hard to tell.  Another girl said if you're sick a lot, it's a boy, and if you're tired, it's a girl.  So, I have mixed ideas there, since I'm pale..meaning a boy, but I'm not sick, just tired...meaning a girl.  Oh well!  Basically, no one knows.  But it's cute that they have their little ideas.

Well, if you stuck to reading this, great!  If not, it's kindof for my own memory too.  :)

Peaches and Oranges

Apparently when you're pregnant, they love to refer to your baby as being the size of different fruit.  Last week it was the size of a peach, and this week, it's the size of an orange.  That's okay though, because it gives me a little perspective of how tiny this little baby really is!  And how much it is growing!  Jevan still teases me by saying it's still just the little bean it was when we got our first ultra sound, but my body knows better!  I'm 15 weeks today, and decided I should probably start taking pictures.  So...here is a picture of me today.  Not the best pic...and I know I look pretty much completely the same as always, but if you were me, you would be able to tell that my tummy really is growing!

This is me just standing normal....

And this is me trying to highlight my tiny tummy...but my arm is in the way.  Oh well!
I get to find out what we're having on March 31st at 9:00 a.m.!!  I can't wait!

I've also added some pictures below of our first ultra sound.  I've been so entirely lucky and blessed to have such an easy and nice pregnancy.  I never had to puke!  I just felt slightly nauseated constantly for a week or two.  But, it wasn't anything I couldn't handle.  I also would fall asleep super easily while watching t.v., take lots of naps, and I've had to pee...like, all the time..and still do.  But it's getting better.  :)

I was really excited, and couldn't wait for Jevan before I took a picture.

We took a million trying to get a decent one.  I just thought this one was kind of funny.

I think this is the pic we put on a Valentine's card to announce to our parents that they were getting a new grand baby!

I'm a Teacher!

The last 2 months have been a crazy blur!  Jevan and I moved back to Rexburg, and although it's not our favorite place to live, it does have some perks.  Those perks include:  $5 pizza at Little Caesar's (it was $5.99 in Cedar City), a large concentration of young married couples all in the same situation as us, (we love our ward and have already made some new friends and reunited with some old ones), CHEAP tuition for Jev and short semesters for a faster finish, (he should be done here in July or next December at the latest), Cable T.V. with NFL Network (they lied to use about having ESPN which made Jevan mad), and most importantly I have my teaching job!

I have mixed feelings about teaching right now.  In all honesty, it's a love and...dislike relationship.  I know it's only been a little over a month, and it will get better, but I don't know if it's worth it to me to teach forever.  I love the kids and I love teaching more than other jobs I've had, but it's a lot of work, and it's constant work.  I never feel like I get a break from it, because there is always something more I can be doing.  I also feel like I could make around the same amount of money doing a different job for a lot less effort, so maybe I'm just lazy.  BUT, enough of the negative thoughts, it's really a great profession!  I couldn't ask for a better school to work at.  My Principal is amazing!  Probably the best principal I've ever met.  So nice and fun!  I also love all my faculty.  There really is little to no drama between anyone, and my teaching team is amazing.  I love working with the two awesome ladies on my team!  They seriously keep my sane.  They also keep me on track and always make sure I have everything I need to be a successful teacher.

Here are a few pictures of things that we've been doing!

We had our 2 year wedding anniversary in August.

We also got some new family pictures with Jevan's family.

All the boys.

All the girls!

Jevan's whole family.

The awesome BYU vs. Texas football game.  Pouring rain, delayed 2 hours because of  of lightening, but an awesome win!  Go Cougars!!!

My classroom on the first day of school.  It looks different now, but here is a brief glance of it.

Our new living room.  We bought that couch at Big Lots for pretty cheap and we'll sell it when we move.  It's nice to not have a couch covered with a blanket.  I made those curtains before our move, and I LOVE them!!!

Our entryway.  I made that "A" by the door too.  It's for Anderson, not Amy. ;)  All I really did was paint it, but I'm still proud.

Our kitchen!  I also made those "Family" blocks on top of our counters.  Well, Lisa made the blocks, I just put the paper and modgepodge on.  I've been feeling crafty and actually taking action on it!

Jevan's mom gave us these old barstools that actually used to be Jevan's grandparents.  They are so comfy, but pretty beat up.  I forgot to take a picture before I sanded them, but here is a before picture of our barstools.  Hailey helped me sand them and told me what to do to make them look good.

Here is the finished product!  Black may be boring, but it's classic. I love having the metal ring silver instead of a worn out gold.  Too bad they got a little scratched on our move.  :(  I guess they'll need another paint job!
